Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what Klass collects, why, and what choices you have. It's written in plain English on purpose. If something is unclear, email us at privacy@klass.app.

1. Who we are

Klass is operated by an independent team building AI-powered learning tools for parents, teachers, and adult learners. The current site is at klass-2gq.pages.dev.

2. Who Klass is for

Klass accounts are for adults 18 and older. The Homework Helper is designed for parents to use on behalf of their children — not for children to use directly.

Children under 13: Klass is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@klass.app and we will delete it.

3. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

When you use the product, we receive:

We do not collect: location, payment information, browsing history, or any tracking identifiers across the web.

4. How your inputs are processed by AI

To generate responses, Klass sends your inputs to a third-party AI provider, DeepSeek (operated by Hangzhou DeepSeek AI Co., Ltd., based in China). When you paste a homework problem or send a role-play message, that text is transmitted to DeepSeek's servers, which may be located outside the United States.

If you do not want your inputs sent to DeepSeek, do not use Klass.

Do not paste sensitive personal information (Social Security numbers, financial account details, medical records, or anything else you would not want a third party to see) into Klass.

5. Cookies

We use one cookie: klass_session. It keeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

6. How we use your information

We use what we collect only to:

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for behavioral advertising.

7. Data retention

We keep your account information until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from your account page; this removes your profile, saved homework history, lesson packages, course enrollments, and practice transcripts.

AI request logs at our hosting provider may persist for a short period as part of normal hosting operations.

8. Your rights

You can:

If you live in California, the EU, or any jurisdiction with stronger data rights, those laws apply on top of what's described here.

9. Data security

We hash passwords with PBKDF2-SHA256 and a per-user random salt. Sessions use signed cookies. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password and email us.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will post the new policy here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will email registered users.
